Scholarships

We proudly supports the leaders of tomorrow through our annual scholarship program. Up to fourteen $1,000 scholarships are awarded annually to eligible seniors across our service territory.

Apply for a WECI Scholarship

Our Scholarship Program is committed to the leaders of tomorrow. The Wheatland Electric Board of Trustees has approved fourteen (14) $1,000 scholarships to be awarded for the 2026-2027 school year.

Students who attend one of the 13 high schools in our service territory are eligible to apply. 

Applicants must be a legal dependent of an active member receiving service from Wheatland Electric. Children of employees and/or trustees are not eligible to apply. 

One AT-LARGE scholarship is available to students that have a parent/guardian who is a member of Wheatland Electric, but does not attend one of the 13 high schools in Wheatland’s service territory.

  • Caldwell
  • Chaparral
  • Conway Springs
  • Deerfield
  • Great Bend
  • Greeley County
  • Holcomb
  • Norwich
  • Scott County
  • South Haven
  • Syracuse
  • Wichita County

Completed Application Due: Monday, January 11, 2027 by 5:00 p.m. CT

REQUIREMENTS: High school seniors who attend one of the high schools in Wheatland Electric’s service territory are eligible to apply. In addition, applicants must be a legal dependent of an active member receiving service from Wheatland Electric.

ESSAY
The topic which you choose is part of the judging criteria. For example, someone who is passionate about chewing gum will not likely get as many votes as someone who is passionate about finding a cure for cancer.
