Cram The Van Coming To Great Bend

Wheatland Electric Cooperative is hosting its 4th annual Cram the Van food drive. New to this year’s drive is a competition between all Great Bend schools sponsored by Hiss-Sherman Wealth Management.  The competition will take place the week of October 9-13.  Hiss-Sherman has offered a $1,000 cash prize to the top three schools who collect the most donations.  (1st Place- $500, 2nd Place- $300, 3rd Place- $200) The top three schools will be determined by calculating average pounds collected per student.  The winning schools PTO or similar organization will receive the prize money.

The community is invited to participate in the culminating event at the Wheatland Electric office on Friday, October 13th from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Wheatland Electric is located at 2300 Broadway in Great Bend.  Bring your cash or can donations to the Wheatland office and we'll trade you a lunch of a hamburger or hot dog, chips, cookies and a drink.  You can also register to win a free $100 gift card bundle to Wheatland’s local Coop Connections Card partners.  All donations benefit the Barton County Food Bank.

To date, Wheatland and its members have collected more than 11.5 tons of food for local food banks across Wheatland’s service territory.  Stop by the Wheatland office on October 13th, help your favorite school collect the most food and help Wheatland Electric Cram the Van!
