Winter Storm Update 12/27/18
Update 3:20 p.m. - We have made lots of progress over the last couple of hours. Here's the latest outage update by county.
Update 12:45 p.m. - Here's another outage update by county. Scott City crews are starting to make some headway.
Update 10:50 a.m. - The Wheatland Electric office in Tribune is now open.
Update 9:25 a.m. - Here is a look at the outages across the western part of our service territory by county:
Crews are still working to restore power as quickly and safely as possible.
Update: All Wheatland Electric offices are open except for the Tribune office. Calls to the Tribune office will be transferred to one of our other offices.
Update: Syracuse, Tribune and Leoti should have power restored.
Update: As of this morning we have approximately 3,400 members without power. Due to the current conditions we are having trouble isolating and restoring power. As the weather allows we will continue to work to restore power as quickly and safely as possible.
Wheatland Electric offices will be open as soon as employees are able to safely get to work.
Blizzard Warning: The National Weather Service has issued a blizzard warning for most of the counties in the western part of our service territory. Heavy snow, strong winds and blowing snow can be expected.
We are currently experiencing outages across our service territory. Visibility has become an issue as our line crews try to identify, isolate and restore outages. In some areas there is no visibility and our crews cannot safely patrol lines to determine the cause of outages. We will continue to work to restore power as quickly and safely as possible as the weather allows.
